What: Inside Pussy Riot

Where: Saatchi Gallery

When: Tuesday 12th

It may have started in November, but this week is the ideal time to get down to the Saatchi Gallery. Inside Pussy Riot tells a story that needs to be experienced to be understood. To mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, audience members are encouraged to pull on a balaclava and stand up for what they believe in, just like Pussy Riot did back in 2012 when they staged a performance inside Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

What: The Black Madonna

Where: York Hall

When: Saturday 16th

We have a rule here at Tung HQ that we strive to live by: never miss an opportunity to go see The Black Madonna. Hitting York Hall this Saturday is everyone’s favourite dance music connoisseur, presenting her We Still Believe show from 2pm-midnight. If there’s one thing we love more than The Black Madonna it’s an early night, so this is a real double-whammy for us.

What: Sundays at Phonox - Jackmaster & Eli Escobar & Krystal Klear

Where: Phonox

When: Sunday 17th

Now ordinarily we’d never go from one big night out on to the next (see above re: early nights), but thanks to The Black Madonna’s 12am closing time, we reckon we might be able to make an exception for night one of Jackmaster’s four-night Phonox residency. Jackmaster and Krystal Klear have thrown some 10/10 parties in the past, and this one is set to be no different.

What: The Nightmare Before Christmas + Gremlins (Screenings)

Where: Moth Club

When: Sunday 17th

With only 8 days left in the countdown to Christmas, it’s high time to start bingeing on the festive films. We’re into Love Actually as much as the next guy (although that Lindy West piece will never truly leave our hearts and minds), but, for us, nothing can ever beat Gremlins. Head over to Moth Club for a double screening of Gremlins and Tim Burton classic The Nightmare Before Christmas, and maybe when you get home chuck on Die Hard to complete the trifecta of tangentially Christmassy films.
